King of Kings

The word:

Pilate asked Jesus, “Are you the King of the Jews?” Jesus said, “My kingdom does not belong to this world; if it did, my followers would fight to keep me from being taken by the authorities. You say that I am a king. I was born and came into the world for this one purpose: to speak about the truth. Whoever belongs to the truth listens to me.” – Dan 7:13-14 | Ps 92 | Rev 1:5-8 | Jn 18:33-37

Look closer:

King of Truth: A Story. We had been robbed for the third time. As I prepared the insurance claim, a friend suggested that I claim for the camera that I had dropped and broken, even though it wasn’t one of the stolen things. It was tempting but I opted for the truth. I know from experience that honesty in small things leads to honesty in big things.

  • Talk about it: How has the truth ‘cost’ you?

Prayer space:

Lord God,
King of Heaven and Earth,
We worship you!
We praise you!
We give you glory!

Did you know?

St Andrew was the brother of Simon Peter and one of the first disciples. After the Ascension, St Andrew went to Greece to spread the Gospel. He was arrested and crucified. Instead of being nailed, he was tied to the cross and he continued to preach until his last breath two days later. He is the patron saint of Scotland and Russia.
