A Blessing for your Home

It is in our homes that our children are first introduced to love; in our homes where husbands and wives most profoundly model sacramental love; in our homes where we learn and practice forgiveness, compassion, encouragement, humility, trust….for more, check out this article from CathFamily.
Materials:
- Holy Water
- Holy Family Image
- Candle.
Gather as a family at your prayer space. Light the candle. Make the sign of the cross.
Leader:
Peace be with this house and with all who live here.
Blessed be the name of the Lord. Amen.
Leader:
When Jesus became man, he made his home with us. Let us pray that he will enter this home and bless it with his presence. May Jesus always be among us; may he nurture our love for each other, share in our joys, and comfort us in our sorrows.
Inspired by the example of the Holy Family, let us seek to make our home a dwelling place of love.
Visit each room of the house with the Holy Family and candle. Sprinkle holy water and say:
All: O God, give your blessing on all who use this room. Amen.
Return to your prayer space. Say the Lord’s Prayer.
Our Father, who art in heaven….
Leader:
Be our shelter, Lord, when we are at home, our companion when we are away and our welcome guest when we return. Bless our home and our family. Keep us close to each other and to you.
All: Amen.
All make the sign of the cross as the leader concludes:
May the peace of Christ rule in our hearts, and may the word of Christ dwell in us, so that whatever we do in word or action, we will do in the name of the Lord.
All: Amen.
