My A.I. Relationship Coach
Each workday, I get an A.I. generated email from Microsoft with a checklist of messages for follow up, calendar appointments, and on Fridays, a reminder to schedule ‘focus time’.
Today, my AI ‘relationship coach’ suggested that I schedule a reminder to ‘praise my work colleagues’.

Microsoft even provides cute little praise badges that any colleague under the age of twelve would be proud to showcase in her brag portfolio. I still need to write the message, but perhaps with time, the A.I. will draft this part also.
It’s interesting that what is mainstreamed through this business software is also just good practice for marriage and family life. Who among us doesn’t need appreciation from our loved ones? Importantly, who doesn’t need a bit of reminding to do it?
The benefits of a personal gratitude habit for individual wellbeing are well documented. Expressing regular appreciation to a loved one can immunise a relationship from decay and retrieve one that is in tatters.
As our American friends approach the great holiday of Thanksgiving, let us all take a moment to appreciate the gift of each other… and express it!
