Peg Leg Sheep
May 8, 2023/
When we live without God, we are like sheep without a shepherd.
Jesus often spoke about himself as a Shepherd. In Matthew’s gospel (9:36), for example, he said:
When Jesus saw the crowds he felt sorry for them because they were harassed and dejected, like sheep without a shepherd.
King David, in his psalms, also prayed about sheep and shepherd, singing:
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul. (Ps 23;1)
We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. (Ps 100:3)
